Spicy Black Bean Brownies

Introducing a new recipe to our fans that is sure to be a hit, Spicy Black Bean Brownies! These brownies are not only rich and chocolatey, but also packed with a secret ingredient, cayenne pepper, that will give you a little kick of heat with every bite. Not only are these brownies delicious, but they are also a great way to sneak in some extra protein and fiber thanks to the black beans.


  1. 1/4 Cup Coconut Oil, Melted

  2. 1 Can Black Beans, Drained and Rinsed

  3. 3/4 Cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder

  4. 1/2 Cup Almond Flour

  5. 1/2 Agave Nectar or Honey

  6. 2 Eggs

  7. 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract

  8. 1 Teaspoon Cayenne Pepper

  9. 1/2 Teaspoon Baking Powder

  10. 1/4 Teaspoon Salt


Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease an 8x8 inch baking sheet dish with coconut oil or cooking spray. In a food processor or blender, puree the black beans until smooth. In a large mixing bowl, combine the black bean puree, cocoa powder, almond four, agave nectar or honey, melted coconut oil, eggs, vanilla extract, cayenne pepper, baking powder, and salt. Mix until well combined. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly. Bake the brownies for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the brownies to cool completely before cutting them into squared and serving.
